Ramsbottom Christmas Festival to return this Sunday

Christmas markets in Ramsbottom are set to return this weekend for the first time since the pandemic. The Ramsbottom Christmas Festival will welcome residents on Sunday, December 4 with stallholders boasting a variety of gifts, crafts, cakes and more. The festive stalls will be found at the Civic Hall, St Paul’s Gardens, and the area next to the Ramsbottom Urn in the town centre. Children will have the chance to meet Father Christmas and festival goers will be invited to take part in a seasonal singalong around the streets, accompanied by a local saxophonist. This year’s event will begin at 11am and visitors will have until 4pm to enjoy all that’s on offer. There will be around 30 stalls featuring traders of crafts, art, treats and more. Hot food and coffee will be provided outside and The Civic Hall will host a DJ and crafting table for the younger ones and Father Christmas. The Saxophonist will be there between 12pm and 2pm to play festive music down the High Street. Cllr Clare Cummins, who has been involved with organising this year’s festival, says she hopes it will give the town’s residents a chance to come together for some festive fun. She said: “It’s great to have this Christmassy event back in our town.
