Limerick shoppers help raise more than €300k for charity with trolley dash

LIDL Ireland has announced its annual Trolley Dash festive fundraiser raised more than €307,000 for its charity partner Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health. The event, which took place at Lidl stores across the country just before Christmas, saw customers being given the chance to enter a draw giving them the opportunity to complete a trolley dash at their local store. Lidl customers in Limerick raised more than €8,500 for the charity. The fundraising initiative, now in its 8th year, has received phenomenal widespread support from generous customers across Lidl’s stores. In Pictures: Out & About at the inaugural Dylan McCarthy Poc Fada Winning customers have been taking to the aisles at their local stores for the chance to bag their Christmas shopping, as part of the festive fundraiser and fill a trolley load of groceries and festive treats, just in time for Christmas. Since its inauguration in 2014, the festive fundraiser has raised more than €2 million for the retailer’s charity partners and given away trolley loads of Christmas groceries to the lucky winners.
